Here is some whining

- Summer is over, everyone is gone

-I wish i could have seen people from high school more.

- I'm left to live the last week of the summer in agonzing boredom. I guess I'll start some personal projects.

-I think id like to go to school for 10 more years.

this update sucks

Musings... [Jul. 25th, 2004|04:47 am]
-"Steely Dan" is a dumb name for a band.

-Wagner wrote 15 hour operas... dumbass. Overtures are good though, make you want to spread the triumph of Germandom throughout the world... (don't take that the wrong way) heil Die Meistersinger!

-The Russians write damn good music.

- "Equilibrium" is an awesomely bad movie, although "grammaton cleric" is a somewhat awesome-ish name...

-"Anchorman" is no Old School.

- The Red Sox continue to find ways to behave disgracefully. Catcher Jason Varitek took a cheap shot at alex rodriguez. He still had his catcher's helmet and glove on. Come on! What a prick, at least take your helmet off if ur gonna try to start something. Also three Red Sox players banded together and tried to gang bang yankees pitcher Tanyon Sturtz during the ensuing brawl.

- Schumann's "Traumerei" is a good late-night, life-pondering song.

- Why don't we allow our politicians to change their minds? Form new opinions? All the rest of us are free to do so... All this flip-floping talk is to a significant degree, nonsense.

-Has anyone read "Sophie's World" ? Its good

-Does anyone think smoking looks cool? Honestly now.

- I like Jesus, but probably am a bad Christian, and I don't even know what that means.

I am reading "Darkness at Noon" a fictional portrayal dealing with the purges in Stalin's Russia. Whenver I read a few pages I get a headache, not good summer reading. I need a trashy novel or two, one with flashy gadgets and lots of action, not one of these intellectually masturbatory ones I should be reading while in school.

Mini-Reunion with Gile people tomorrow, I love you Gile-ites, although i did not live there.

Oh yeah, and in Rocky 4, Apollo acts RETARDED! What the hell was he thinking going up against Drago? You can't put Rocky in that situation either! Don't tell him not to stop the fight! granted, he should have thrown in the towel, but still, its a no win situation for the Stallion.

Did you know that the Vikings landed in North America in like the 11th century ad? But were killed off by the natives? That info courtesy of the "national geographic channel"

Oh god, I need to stop, I returned to blogging with the intention of stringing together a few meaningful posts, this has degenerated into well... suck.

My dog is whining, again, never seems to sleep.

Good day

Dear Journal,

Jon Stewart should reach a larger audience…

The events of the last few days, and a conversation with my Brother, have caused me to go on a political rant.

The Bush admin. Is clearly trying to Draw attention away from the Kerry-Edwards hype

Tom Ridge- “We have no precise information as to location, or means of attack”
He then added “we are actively seeking such information” I should fucking hope so. Thanks for the most helpful warning

Bush administration, playing politics with fear…as they have done for the last 3 years.

The GOP is using fear to try to get you to vote Bush, apparently he has made America safer in the last three years…

What has he done? NOTHING Unless you count creating a cabinet level government department that periodically delivers nebulous, fear-inspiring threats of terrorism to the American people an improvement.

I would argue that invading the nation at the center of the Islamic world, angering
Millions upon millions of Muslims, isn’t a good start George… But that’s okay, just as long as the department of homeland security continues its clear, and useful warnings.

Another thing, somewhat related

Bush blames Europe for “being an exclusive club of a single religion” He has just grounds to do so, given our illustrious history of electing non-Christian presidents…

Kerry offers an exciting and positive alternative to Bush. Plus, Edwards has sex appeal. Take that, Cheney…

Kerry: Smart, articulate, can string multiple sentences together in a logical, coherent manner. When he came to Dartmouth, I was very impressed with his thoughtful responses to very tough questions.

Bush: (You know where I’m going)

Kerry: Speaks five languages, years and years of international relations experience in the Senate.

Bush: Had to be told there were three sects of Islam in Iraq.

OH MAN… I am sooooo nervous about this election. Maybe unnecessarily so, but I feel… well, Since the end of the cold war people have been comparing America to the Roman empire, and you all know how Rome, after 300 some glorious years, crumbled?. I feel like if Bush is elected again… well, you see where I’m going.

Kerry and Edwards can lead us out of the dark age the Bush administration has imposed.

Bush Carried New Hampshire by a slim margin in 2000. Once I return to school, I will be campaigning for Kerry-Edwards there until Nov 4, hopefully making a difference.

If Bush is re-elected, I won’t be returning from Berlin in the Spring…
